Our dns seeder is currently being rebuilt for VeriCoin which is probably why you can't find any connections because you don't a have a peers.dat file. Add this to the conf file. Once you have connections you can remove them all for next startup of the wallet

    • make a verium.conf file and add that list
    • save it on the verium folder at %AppData%

Wallet Crashing in Windows? Try This First

The VeriCoin Wallet stores its data files in a completely separate location from the installation files. In Windows XP, the data files can be found here:
    C:\Documents and Settings\YourUserName\Application Data\VeriCoin\
in Windows Vista, 7, 8, 8.1, and 10, the data files can be found here:
    C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Roaming\VeriCoin\

You may find that the Application Data and AppData folders are not visible in Windows Explorer; they're usually hidden by default. You can change the display setting for hidden files.

I am having the same problem on the Mac Version 1.6.5.5. Wallet says 0 connections, but downloads the blockchain okay.

Wallet says "In Sync" with a check mark but when I hover over the text, I get the message "Out of sync and not staking because the wallet is offline."

I have re-downloaded the blockchain and re-scanned the wallet.

Where is the file to edit for the DNS nodes for Mac?

I did not have this problem with the Verium wallet.

I found the debug log. It says:

connect() failed after select(): Connection refused
    trying connection 138.68.53.223:58684 lastseen=93.7hrs
connect() failed after select(): Connection refused
    trying connection 138.68.53.223:58684 lastseen=93.7hrs
connect() failed after select(): Connection refused
    trying connection 138.68.53.223:58684 lastseen=93.7hrs

Can I change the connection in the console? How do I change it?
    Thanks

Yeah not sure why you are having trouble connecting lately, a few have reported this recently too. Looking into it. On mac it's a bit tricky because they hide the library folder by default. So go into a finder window, click on the clock gear icon for settings, then choose 'show view options' then check 'show library folder'. Now you see the library folder in your home directory. Then go into that and Application Support and find the vericoin folder. In that folder edit the text of the file vericoin.conf to include the list on nodes near the top of this thread above just as it is written there. Then save the file and restart VeriCoin.

Thanks for responding. I found the hidden Vericoin folder, but there is no file called "vericoin.conf" in any of the folders. I created the text file and added the nodes and it's now showing 19 connections.

    Thanks,
    Perry

Using wallet for the first time with first deposit, but can't get it to work. Everything is confirmed sent from non-Vericoin wallet.

Seems I'm having the same "0 connections" problem, also on OSX with 1.6.5, but can't seem to fix it with all the above...unless I'm making the .conf file wrong. Any help would be amazing. Thanks, guys--

I'm sorry nobody answered you. If you weren't able to get it to work then just follow what @effectsToCause said in his post. If you don't feel like editing the vericoin.conf file, you could try using this config file instead, which is the one that worked for me: http://www.vericoin.info/downloads/vericoin.conf

Hi there, I am new to viacoin and I give up as to how to get the connections in this wallet. I tried imputting the data for the conf file which didnt work. I have found there seems to be different verions of the wallet? I have a transaction stuck in the network as my wallet wont connect. Can I download it again or will I loose my address details? Would appreciate some help please

I'm sorry, Claret_Tea but the majority of us are volunteers who also lead busy lives so we're not always immediately available. I'm glad you got it worked out, though. :)
